In Cultural Center in Šabac, partner from Serbia, Association Light organized The International Conference on Oct 10th and 11th on topic of gender equality, as a part of a project called SuperModels on BoARd.

What were the topics that were discussed on the conference: What is and what is not a gender equality; Challenges in implementation of gender equality in different European countries; Position of LGBTQ+ people, gender inequality in the workplace, gender pay gap; “Pink tax” on products which are in pink color, Prejudice and discrimination toward women in rural areas and women with disabilities; Gender based violence; Media and gender perspective.

With the presence of youth workers, leaders, as well as representatives of local governments from the following European countries, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, France and Serbia, a program was implemented that focuses on actions and initiatives that overcome problems and initiates the implementation of the Istanbul Convention, which all countries have ratified.

On the Conference participated representatives of non formal network “Women of Šabac” who presented results of the project that deals with women solidarity, support women victims of violence, as well as promoting the idea of zero tolerance towards violence.

The conference is designed to support networking and for organizations dealing with gender equality to be further strengthened and informed through the exchange of examples of good practice. On the second day of the conference, students from the Economic school in Šabac "Stana Milanović" attended and were introduced to the volunteering program called "European Solidarty Core". They were also introduced to the results of the two-year project within which this conference was realized, namely a social game on the topic of gender equality with elements of augmented reality and comics in which various contents on paper are brought to life in the digital world. Our goal is that the social game is used in informal education programs in youth work, and comics are something that can be read individually and bring creative processing of the topic. Comics also have elements of augmented reality, which brings a digital experience of some scenes in comics.

If you implement informal education programs, we are ready to share with you the content that was developed as part of this project.
